Wife of Grey’s Anatomy Star Files for Divorce
USA Today reports that Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey is divorcing his wife of 15 years, Jillian Fink. The couple says they are divorcing after careful consideration and that it was a mutual decision.
The two claim their primary concern is the health and wellbeing of their children. The couple currently has three children between the ages of 7 and 12, two of whom are twins.
The marriage survived Dempsey’s career revival, from struggling romantic comedy actor in the 80s to a major TV star on Grey’s Anatomy. He has acted in the hit series for more than 10 years.
The couple often appeared in public together and voiced regular support for each other, with Fink famously supporting Dempsey’s passion for motor racing. But sources say Fink filed the divorce papers while Dempsey was out of town, ironically at the 24 Hours of Daytona racing event.
The couple has not revealed who will have custody of their three children or if they will apply for joint custody.

Ex-Girlfriend Recants Story About George Zimmerman
AZ Central reports that a Florida court has dropped aggravated assault charges against neighborhood watch member George Zimmerman. Police laid the charges after Zimmerman’s ex-girlfriend said he threw a bottle at her, but she subsequently claimed that her statement was not correct, and she does not want Zimmerman to stand trial for the assault.
This follows a number of troubling months for Zimmerman. Officials recently acquitted Zimmerman of the killing of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, which sent shockwaves across the country. Following that, Zimmerman’s ex-wife accused him of destroying an iPad in a fit of rage during an argument. The case did not carry through due to a lack of evidence, but the argument came just days after she filed for divorce.
Millions of Children Still Live in Single-Parent Homes
A recent United States Census reveals that a large number of children are still living in single-parent homes. In 2011, there were an estimated 14.4 million single parents living with 23.4 million children while one of the other parents lived elsewhere. Just 18.3 percent of these custodial parents were fathers.
